Coastal Living in Redondo Beach

Heather Scott Design & Home is thrilled to reveal one of our latest installations: the Redondo Beach Project. This project exemplifies our dedication to crafting homes that embody elegance and practicality.

A little while back, we received a call from cherished past clients, with whom we’ve had the pleasure of collaborating on two previous projects. They were looking for a home to be closer to their children and granchildren and had fortunately discovered a home amid construction and were eager to move forward to the next steps. Exciting news for us… the house was in Redondo Beach, California, with rooftop ocean views!

Despite the long distance, our clients trusted us to bring their vision to life.

After meticulous planning and dedicated effort, we are proud to share with you photos from this completed Redondo Beach Project!  Our clients sought a family-oriented, beach-inspired, durable, and inviting atmosphere for this new family home. We truly enjoyed creating a beach-worthy home with fun and personal touches throughout the home.

This is the fabulous rooftop patio with a wine bar, pizza oven, and fire pit. Our client’s focus was to make this the “crown jewel,” as it was his favorite spot.

The main level of the home features an open-plan living room, dining area, and kitchen.  This space opens out to an intimate patio with a fireplace.  The large sliders are open to allow true indoor/outdoor living and provide a stunning backdrop that floods the room with natural light. Every detail in this room is thoughtfully curated to evoke a sense of tranquility and sophistication.

A bold rattan light fixture leads the eye to the sliding doors and outdoor patio.

We transformed the dining area into a serene and elegant space that harmonizes perfectly with its oceanic surroundings. The room’s centerpiece is a live-edge wood dining table, surrounded by intricately woven chairs that add a touch of natural charm.  The wall art is a series of hand-painted oils that are so vibrant you feel like you are sitting by the ocean.

The kitchen is a perfect blend of functionality and style, featuring sleek surfaces and elegant details. The large central island serves as both a workspace and a gathering spot. Above the island, three pendant lights with clean, white shades cast a warm, inviting glow, enhancing the kitchen’s contemporary feel. The kitchen’s design is further accentuated by open shelving and sleek cabinetry, providing ample storage while maintaining a streamlined look.

The kitchen island features a waterfall countertop and wood accents.

Stepping into the primary bedroom, comfort meets elegance. The centerpiece is a stunning four-poster bed with a natural woven frame that brings a touch of casual sophistication to the space. The large windows enhance the room’s palette of soft blues and neutrals, allowing natural light to peer in.  The wallpaper in the master bedroom remains a stand-out feature, particularly the Ombré design by Phillip Jefferies. We intended to create an ambiance that exudes relaxation and comfort, evoking a serene beach vibe. We are delighted with how successfully this vision was realized.

The primary bedroom features an Ombre grasscloth wallpaper in shades of blue.

Crisp, white bedding makes the woven, canopy bed an inviting retreat.

One of the most cherished aspects of the Redondo Beach Project for our clients was creating a bunk room dedicated to their grandchildren. This space was carefully designed to foster lasting memories and provide a cozy haven tailored just for them.  It was a highlight for our team to bring this vision to life, ensuring that every detail was perfect for the enjoyment and comfort of all the members of this family.
