Before & After: Barton Creek Master Bath Remodel
November 13, 2020 in Before & After, Inspiration | no comments

If you love a bathroom remodel and a fabulous before and after then this blog post is for you! In this Barton Creek home, our clients wanted to remodel their master bath with a fresh updated look and cohesive feel. They also wanted a fresher, brighter color scheme for their spa-like bathroom. One of their key points on their wish list was to incorporate a larger shower, which we accounted for in their design. The bathroom built-ins also needed a reconfiguration with new modern lighting and a sleeker mirror option. Let’s take a look at the transformation!

Master Bath Before

The master bathroom had dated 90s finishes and overall felt disjointed with its lack of symmetry. One of the priorities in the remodel was to make the shower have a larger footprint.

The existing vanity built-in lacked symmetry and style. It had dark, drab finishes and the mixed mirror sizes added to the disjointed feel.

Master Bath After

We love this transformation! The walls and ceiling are painted in Benjamin Moore’s White Dove, which instantly brightens the remodeled master bathroom. In order to incorporate a larger shower, we sourced a smaller scale tub to better suit the space. The freestanding matte white tub instantly elevates the look. The new shower is meant to feel even larger with a frameless glass enclosure and polished nickel details.

For added drama and interest, the shower field and tub wall is tiled to the ceiling in a lustrous white marble tile. The varying tones and textures offer a unique element to the classic subway tile application. Here is a better look at the variation from this progress photo below.

Additionally, the drab tiled floors in the master bathroom were replaced with a complementary modern, large scale 12 x 24 marble tile. It offers another seamless flow. For a symmetrical, modern feel, we incorporated a relaxed roman shade to frame the arched window. It is paired with a functional white woven roller shade for added privacy.

The new vanity built-ins are painted in Benjamin Moore’s Simply White with polished nickel hardware and timeless shaker front details on the cabinet fronts. A full sheet of mirror with a beveled frame gives the built-in wall a seamless, airy feel unlike the layout before.

Jewelry-like lighting is accented with antiqued brass to add warmth to the serene, neutral remodel.

Details like a chic faux snakeskin vanity stool with a hammered gold base adds another touch of gold to the sparkly white bath.

The overall shot of the new master bath built-in is too good to not share. (Don’t mind us standing in the background!)
