If you follow our team on Instagram, this project will definitely look familiar, as we took you behind the scenes of this home’s install last month. This project has so many unique, one-of-a kind features that we wanted to preview it today on the blog before we professionally photograph it. From original Meredith Pardue art pieces to a hand-stitched custom Kyle Bunting hide rug, this room is dressed in all of the finest. It definitely adds a wow-factor as you step foot into this Mediterranean influenced home.

Living Room Before
The room lacked a true purpose and identity. It also did not have that wow-factor that the homeowner wanted for the space. With a taste for the finer things, she wanted each piece in the formal living room to be unique and interesting. She wanted the space to be elegant and striking, while still practical when her grandchildren visit.

Beyond her interest in an elegant, yet livable space she mentioned her love for cobalt blue, taupe, tans, gold and animal print. With all of this feedback in mind, we had a fabulous understanding of what could make this space shine.

The pièce de résistance of the space is this hand-stitched, custom Kyle Bunting hide rug. We worked closely with the Kyle Bunting team to create this showstopping rug. It is probably our favorite feature of the room. The 12′ x 15′ rug is made with accents of gold, cream & ivory. It is hand crafted from the finest Italian hides into an intricately designed work of art. Below you can see the luminous shine of this gorgeous rug. Pictures don’t do it justice!

Living Room After
We presented two floor plans to our client, but we both preferred the classic symmetry two sofas brought to the space. The tufted Chesterfield style sofas are upholstered in a durable, cream velvet Crypton. They offer a luxe appeal to the room, but are also a livable and practical seating solution.

A mix of leopard and gold graphic velvet pillows in the room’s bold color scheme of blues, gold and tan help pull together the living room.

On the neutral textured wing chairs, we brought in even more cobalt blue with custom lumbar pillows. Gold beaded tape applique adds a chic, glamorous moment to the custom pillow.

The coffee table also helps ground the room. Accented with dark faux horn, it highlights the rooms elegant features. The glass top and open base allow even more of the custom hide rug to shine through.

Here is a detailed view of the cocktail table paired with a custom floral by local florist Margot Blair.

A sapphire blue chest offers sophisticated storage to the room. It is paired with a bold art deco style mirror.

As you will notice, the light fixtures were also updated. Two dramatic brass and crystal chandeliers adorn the space perfectly. For the main wall in the room, our client wanted an eye-catching art piece. We recommended a piece by local artist Meredith Pardue. Pardue helped us narrow down the perfect oversized commissioned piece that will add a stunning finishing touch to the space.

The custom art piece will be modeled after this Pardue piece with more blues and tones that highlight the room’s color story of course. We cannot wait to see it!

This luxe formal living room is curated with so many fabulous pieces. We cannot wait to see it completed!
