Before & After: In Progress, Georgetown Glam Guest Room
September 11, 2020 in Before & After | no comments

Today’s ‘Before & After’ blog showcases the wonder of wallpaper and how the right paper can re-imagine a room. For this project, our sweet client wanted to transform her guest bedroom with a fresh new color scheme and a wow factor. The room also needed to incorporate a daybed for guests to use. Here’s a look at the progress of this extra guest room’s glam transformation.

Before

The guest room lacked all of the glamorous and endearing qualities that our client wanted for the space. It is always so fun to work on projects in this home as our client is always wiling to go for bold and beautiful selections. We have worked on several projects for this homeowner before, including a Hollywood Ladies Lounge that can be viewed here. This guest room was on the bland side, which our client is anything but!

After

Wow indeed! One of the showstopping elements of the room is the wallpaper of course. The paper, by artist and photographer Ashley Woodson Bailey, is both dramatic and beautiful with its stylish mix of florals. It adds the perfect striking element to the room.

The wallpaper designer is known for her signature “floragraphy” art prints and has blossomed her line to include highly-sought after wallpapers and textiles. Here is a close-up of this paper, Into the Dark. So lovely.

The wallpaper served as the main source of inspiration for the room and also informed the color story. A divine mix of raspberry, blush, and pebble grey throw pillows add even more drama to the room’s day bed. However, even the new sleeper sofa needed to have style and personality. The piece features a flirty and feminine frame with scalloped corners. A hidden pull out beneath the seat transforms this sofa into a queen size bed.

Here’s a close-up of this luxe pillow mix. For added drama and custom details, we added a chic beaded tape to the raspberry velvet pillows. It adds such a fun jewelry element to the glamorous room.

Speaking of jewelry, the new chandelier in this room adds even more sparkle to the space. Panes of striking water glass adorn the chandelier. The glass also diffuses the light casting a soft glow.

The room is missing a few finishing touches, but we couldn’t wait to share it. Although the room is meant for guests, our happy client said she couldn’t wait to sit and enjoy her new fabulous space too.
