On today’s What’s New Wednesday post, we are going to share some of the top trends that were revealed at the virtual 2020 Spring High Point Market. This market event is one the most influential interior design events in the United States. The week-long biannual trade show is where decorating trends are born and new collections of furniture, lighting, and floor/wallcoverings from the country’s greatest brands make their debut. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the spring market that was set to open on April 25 was canceled—for only the second time in its 111-year history. The first was in 1942 during World War II. However, we are fortunate to be able to utilize technology in this day and age! The event pivoted to a virtual market to showcase some of the most popular trends for the summer. Here’s a look at the trends and some of the pieces that you can order through our store.
Curvy Silhouettes
Furniture companies are embracing vintage-inspired silhouettes, like rounded edges. Here are a few of our favorite pieces that embrace the rounded trend.

Abstract Art
Abstract and primitive forms are making a comeback on everything from accessories to wallpaper. Below are a few of our favorite abstract pieces.

Brass
This warm metallic hue was the metal finish of choice at this year’s market. We’ve included a few pieces that could warm up your home!

Rattan
Summer inspired finishes are a another fun trend, as they are reminiscent of island life, in both woven and wavy forms. Here’s a look at our favorite rattan pieces.

Hexagonal Shapes
The hexagon is the shape of choice in many showrooms. Here are some of our favorite hexagonal pieces.

Natural Materials
Materials that highlight the beauty of nature like shells and jute are also an important element that manufacturers are adding into their collections. Here are a few that top our list.

Please note that these price do not include sales tax. Let us know if you are interested in any of the items featured or need help sourcing pieces that reflect these trends!
I’ve been looking for that basket pendant in our area. I need it for my next project having a theme of traditional design. I’m glad to see it here.
