Interiors Tour: Montana Dog House Cabin
March 20, 2020 in Interiors Tour | no comments

Our team hopes that you are doing well at home! Yesterday we revealed that we are currently published in THREE major design publications all in the same month! Of course by now you know that we are featured in Mountain Living, and now we are also featured in the Spring issue of Coastal Living magazine and the April issue of HGTV Magazine. It is quite the accomplishment for our team! We will share more about these features in the upcoming weeks. On today’s blog we are wrapping up on our tour of the Montana Dog House and focusing on the cabin of this home. Let’s take a look.

As you may have read in the Mountain Living feature, before Heather and Scott began building their mountain home, they rehabbed a one room dry cabin on the property. They worked with local builder, Jerry Clark of Clark and Sons Construction to add plumbing and insulation so that a kitchenette and a bathroom could be added to the cabin. It is a compact and cozy space, which suited them while their main house was built.

With such a tight space, only two small scale drink side tables could fit to serve as the nightstands. To create the illusion of a larger space, two floor length mirrors were installed behind each nightstand that flank the slipcovered queen bed. The mirrors and tall, thin lamps provide the proper amount of symmetry to the cabin wall.

In the cabin, we sourced pieces that were multi-functional as the cabin has an open studio type layout. For instance, the bistro set shown below, which includes a counter height table with two stools, is the perfect space-saving design element. It not only can serve as a console table, but also a quaint place to enjoy morning coffee. It is in a weathered finish that blends with any style. (The 3-piece set can be ordered through our retail shop for $999.)

Below is a photo of the kitchenette that was built into the cabin. Blue honed marble from Montana Tile & Stone serve as the countertops. Oversized baskets hideaway any essentials that you want to conceal. The kitchenette offers all of the storage and functionality you would need for a short-term stay.

The exterior of the cabin is seen on the very right of the picture below.

We certainly have enjoyed touring this home with you! We have so much more content and projects to share. If you are at home and want to start a project of your own, let our team help you via email and photos. We are here to make your home a cozy and inviting place!
