Interiors Tour: A Twist on Traditional, Part One
September 27, 2019 in Interiors Tour | no comments

We are very excited about today’s project reveal and new Interiors Tour blog series. This beautiful Barton Creek home is one of our favorites from the year, with clients that are equally as lovely. Without further adieu we would like to introduce you to “A Twist on Traditional.”

Family Room

Tucked away in an exclusive Austin neighborhood, this Barton Creek home puts a fresh twist on tradition with a happy color scheme and playful prints. Our well-traveled clients wanted their new home, which is rooted in tradition, to feel like a collection of their travels. Described as our client’s favorite place, a colorful art piece depicting the iconic Italian coastline of Positano served as a main source of inspiration for the interiors of the family room.

With this bubbly color story in mind, our design goal was to outfit the interiors of the home with a clean, classic, and updated aesthetic. We also wanted to effortlessly blend our client’s traditional tastes with a fresh mix of colors, patterns and accents. The family room was transformed into an inviting and bright oasis, which only helped enhance the timeless architecture of the home.

Timeless textiles on clean-line furnishings makes the interiors of the family room feel inviting, yet sophisticated. Most notably, the family room’s custom wall-to-wall drapery panels in a refreshing citrus-patterned fabric envelopes the open space with the same inviting intrigue of the jewel of the Amalfi Coast. Durable lemon yellow barstools and citrus garden draperies give this home undeniable charm and zest for life.

Breakfast Room

The family room opens up to the breakfast room with a round dining table in a washed finish and deep blue chairs. To add even more interest to the chairs, we added a contrasting fabric to the back for more pattern play.

Formal Living Room

On the other side of the fireplace, you will find the formal living room. Gold-dipped lamps brighten a gallery wall of our client’s favorite pieces from their Houston home. Custom velvet striped chairs flanks the sideboard for added seating.

Dining Room

Just to the left of the home’s entry, you will find the dining room wrapped in a dark blue grasscloth wallpaper. Pops of yellow in the draperies and chandelier pop against the deep blue accents.

Entry

Our clients artwork collection served as the inspiration for most of the spaces. The entry was no exception. This piece here depicts a family tree and introduces guests to the color-rich story you will find throughout the home’s main living spaces.

The main spaces now feel like a breath of fresh air, while still tailored to our client’s traditional tastes. Next week we will tour more of this Twist on Traditional home.
