Happy First Day of Summer! On today’s blog we are introducing you to a new design project we are calling Portofino Glam. In this particular project, we worked alongside a fabulous client who traded in her chic LA and NY lofts, for a luxurious 8,300 sq ft home in an exclusive Austin neighborhood. The first room we will tour is the master bedroom that incorporates luxe details and a muted color scheme. Without further ado, introducing our latest blog series, Portofino Glam.

For the master bedroom, we accented the wall in a graphic, flocked wallpaper. The tone-on-tone wallpaper adds the perfect amount of texture and interest to the main wall. A plush, tufted velvvet bed adds a classic element to the room and anchors the space.
More chic details are added in with three euros pillows and a long custom bolster in Schumacher’s Pyne Hollyhock fabric.

This fabric has quite the backstory and it is one of Schumacher’s most sought after fabrics. This chintz pattern was famously used by designer Albert Hadley for his client Nancy Pyne, a legendary socialite and tastemaker. You can read this article on The Glam Pad to learn even more about this timeless fabric and its unique history.

Flanking either side of the bed are a pair of sleek nightstands. The rich satin black finish is contrasted by unique custom hardware made of lucite rods with brushed brass details. The angular, repeated patterned moulding on the drawer fronts adds intricate texture and modern appeal to the room.
Gold framed mirrors and shapely white ceramic lamps add the perfect finishing touches to the glam bedroom. Next week will tour even more spaces from this home. Be sure to follow along!
Do you know the source of the mirrors? So perfect!
