We have a very special project to reveal today just in time for Mother’s Day. One of our longtime clients brought in our team to design her baby girl’s nursery. Nurseries are always such a joy to design and we were so happy to be a part of this project in particular. This was our client’s first nursery as she is now a new mom. She came to us with a very clear (not to mention organized) vision for the nursery. She wanted a bright, cheery, sophisticated and feminine space; she didn’t want a theme. She also wanted plenty of blush, pinks, creams, whites, and grey in the space. Here’s what our team came up with for this sophisticated and feminine nursery.
For the layout, we wanted the crib to be the focal point of the space. Adding a playful abstract print with a thin gold frame to hang above it makes the crib even more of a centerpiece to the room. The art is whimsical with a lovely mix of pastel colors. It can transition in the space as the nursery grows into a children’s room and beyond. Here is a closer look at the art and crib. By the way, how cute is this plush llama?
Another key element to mention is the white and gold chandelier. It was one of our client’s must-have pieces for her baby’s nursery. It adds a fun, punchy element to the space.
Another focal point of the space is the skirted daybed. It gives the new parents another place to rest, feed, and care for their new one. We incorporated a fun mix of custom pillows in blush, blues and creams to highlight the soft color scheme. For the center pillow, we selected a solid linen and used a tape down the center. It is framed with a hint of blush velvet. Functional draperies with a blush velvet trim add even more whispers of the blush color we brought in throughout the space.
Both functional and stylish, the glider chair (upholstered in a cleanable performance fabric) paired with a dramatic foot stool give this space sophistication and personality. Here is a close-up of the stool.
Across from the crib sits a lacquered dresser with Greek-key detailing on the front. It is paired with a petal pink ceramic lamp. The framed X and O art in the soft blush color help add even more of the soft blush color into the nursery.
In this space, there is a built-in desk. We used a fun white and grey wallpaper here. It helps carve out the nook and makes it really standout. Right now the built-in is the nursery’s designated changing station, but it can transition into a homework nook and desk later on. It is paired with an acrylic and gold chair and blush accessories.
This nursery has so many darling qualities. It is perfect for our client’s new baby! If you need help creating your own unique nursery. Let our team help! Start with our questionnaire and we will make the process of designing for baby bliss.
Last but not least, Happy Mother’s Day to all of our mothers that love, care, and support us. The world wouldn’t be the same without you.
