Our tour continues into the Villa Blanca Living Room today. This space was meant to be fairly formal with a mix of elegant and casual elements for an effortlessly cool space for the couple to entertain guests. Before we dive into this California casual space, let us remind you what the kitchen and breakfast room look like in this home.
In the living room, we selected a pair of highback sofas to flank the formal living room. Accents of blue are layered into the space, which created a seamless flow from the remodeled kitchen and breakfast area.
Linen draperies with a subtle, neutral trim frame the windows and the view to the backyard patio and pool.
A waterfall glass cocktail table adds a modern element to the space. Here is another view of the cocktail table styled with a mix of playful accessories. The glass table makes the room feel larger and also allows you to see more of the light neutral silk rug. For more seating and color, a blue velvet bench sits in front of the modern cocktail table.
Skirted chairs pop with accent pillows in a bright fuchsia tape to draw your eye in. This is the first view you get of the living room and it really makes a statement. The fuchsia color especially pops in a home filled with neutrals and pops of deep blue.
To fill the wall of the living room, we incorporated a wood console with a bright colorful art piece above it. We then flanked the sideboard with skirted chairs and two round antiqued mirrors. It adds the perfect amount of interest to the subtly formal living space.
Dark velvet blue pillows accent the neutral sofas. Another unique aspect of this project is that our client wanted to be able to swap out pillows seasonally. You can see the other pillow option later in the blog.
Here is another view of the art, mirrors, and console that anchor the space.
Beyond the blue velvet, we also selected a pretty watermelon green velvet pillow option, which can be used as a bright, fresh alternative for the Spring and Summer months. It pairs beautifully with the color play in the artwork.
Which pillow color do you prefer? You will have to weigh in on whether you prefer the green or blue accent!
This month we will also tour the master bedroom. Stay tuned as we share those images with you.
