In case you want to read along, here is a list of simple ways you can decorate your home to make it feel festive this holiday season.
- Add holiday ribbon to your dining chairs.
If you want to make your dining room more festive, add holiday ribbon to your dining chairs for a classic Christmas look. Grab your favorite ribbon that you may have left over from decorating your tree, wrapping gifts, etc. If you don’t have any ribbon, you can find ribbon at your local craft store. Loosely tie a bow or a casual knot on the back of the chair and voila a little holiday magic!
You can add fresh greenery or tree clippings from your Christmas tree to the bow. You can also add an ornament if you want your chairs to have a little more glitz. You can even add a mini wreath to the back of your dining chairs. There are so many ways to get creative with this tip. You can add the ribbon to your head chairs only or all of your chairs depending on how much ribbon and time you have. You can even add ribbon to your kitchen stools if you want to give your kitchen a special holiday touch!
- Put your leftover ornaments in a bowl or vase.
Need a centerpiece or table decor? Fill your bowls or vases with leftover ornaments. Many stores have the boxes of inexpensive ornaments that you can use to fill bowls, hurricanes and vases for that festive sparkle. This tip couldn’t be more easy for a stylish holiday tablescape.
- Add in festive pillows and throws.
You may not have these lying around, but festive pillows and throws can transform your living space. They can also make your home feel more cozy this Christmas. Layer in festive styles for a cozy, collected look. If you are not a fan of traditional Christmas colors or holiday imagery, add in cozy knit throws or plush textiles, like faux fur pillows. These elements instantly make a space feel cozy and winter ready.
- Fill your frames with holiday cards.
If you have gallery walls or framed photos, for the holidays you can fill them with Christmas cards or even wrapping paper as shown below. It is a little unexpected, but an easy swap to make your home feel festive in a flash. All you need to do is cut and fill them into your existing frames. Whether it be the frames in your gallery wall or on your shelf, this is a fun and easy way to deck your walls for the season.
- Wrap your books in wrapping paper.
We found this idea on Pinterest and thought it was such a cute idea! Wrap your books in leftover wrapping paper. They can add a festive touch to your consoles, mantel and more! You can use the paper you have or buy one that matches the color scheme of your holiday décor.
Raquel demonstrated this DIY on the Studio512 segment, which you can watch here. A few stacks of books to a space can add such a fun look to your favorite holiday decorations.
