Before & After: Modern Classic Breakfast Room
May 25, 2018 in Before & After | no comments

This week we will wrap up our ‘Modern Classic’ series by touring the home’s breakfast room and kitchen. The homeowners have little ones so most of their meal times will be spent in this area as opposed to the formal dining room we toured last week. We wanted the breakfast room to lean more casual, but wanted the sophisticated choices in the other spaces to continue to flow into this space.

Before:

Like most of the spaces they had minimal furnishings so the transformation feels even more dramatic.

After:

Such a bright, cozy breakfast area! We incorporated all lighter grey wood and weathered oak finishes for the sideboard, table and chairs. Since the homeowner’s have young children, we incorporated oak wood chairs with rush seats rather than an upholstered option. The chairs with rush add fabulous texture and make the breakfast room feel more casual.

A grey Greek key tone-on-tone rug gives the room a classic touch. It is a solution-dyed flatweave, which will help the rug resist stains and fading over time.

To add some softness to the kitchen, we selected a pretty light grey fabric for soft fold roman shade. It adds a thoughtful decorative detail to the classic kitchen.

We hope you have enjoyed touring this home with us. If you want our design team to give your home an effortless flow and distinct style, fill out our questionnaire! The summer is the perfect time to start.

We hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend. We will be closed Monday and will reopen Tuesday at 11 am!
