This is our last blog post for 2017! This year has been full of exciting changes and projects. Here is a recap of all the exciting happenings the Heather Scott Home & Design team experienced this past year.
A major milestone we experienced this year is moving to a new location! Our new office bungalow is centrally located in the quaint Rosedale neighborhood. We have been busy the past few months with the logistics of relocating, but settling into our new space just before the holidays was such a treat. We now have a happy, new place to return to in 2018.
2017 Key Projects
In 2017, we also had the opportunity to work on many different design projects with different styles and even locations. We selected a few key projects that stood out to us in the year. Each project featured stood out in their own unique, defining way. Here’s why.
Farmhouse Modern: The Trend
To start 2017, we wrapped up a new construction project in South Austin. The general architectural style of the new build was farmhouse modern, which is still as popular as ever, especially in Texas. Some define the farmhouse modern look as true clean, simple Americana style. Others appreciate the style for its adaptability. It can be mixed with traditional or modern details fairly easily. Our clients wanted the farmhouse modern style of their home echoed into their interior selections.

Glam Bedroom for Style Beacon
This year we also installed a chic and glamorous bedroom for a fashion and lifestyle blogger. Style Beacon’s master bedroom in the hip Seaholm Power District is the perfect back-drop for fashion shoots and wardrobe ‘selfies.’ It is a fun place for the fashionista to kick up her heels at the end of each day.

Spanish Revival, also known as the Santa Barbara style, tops the list as one of our favorite design styles. Pair that with a sweet client and you have a dream project. It is also one of our highlights of the year as it blends several design elements together in a elegant way.

Mammoth Agency in Seattle, WA
Another highlight of 2017 was finishing up the office update for the Mammoth Agency in Seattle, WA. We made all the interior selections without even stepping a foot into the space. This is such an edgy, cool work space- a necessary environment for a thriving creative agency. The project has been featured nationwide in inspiration lookbooks and industry design catalogs.
