Before & After: Glam Girls’ Room
October 06, 2017 in Before & After | no comments

Every now and then our team is hired to take on projects outside of our ‘typical’ design aesthetic. However, we are always up for a fun challenge, plus stepping outside of our comfort zone allows us to get creative. Earlier this year we were brought in to help new North Austin homeowners give their home some personality. Their style is glitzy, modern, and glam!

Today’s blog will spotlight on the one of the spaces we designed- converting the front ‘office’ into the homeowner’s very own glam oasis. A chic and girly space to visit with girlfriends and a designated office space for her to work.

BEFORE:

The front room was very small. We knew we needed to keep all the selections light and airy to make the most of the space.

AFTER:

What a fun, girly space for our homeowner to relax and hangout with a glass of wine!  The homeowner requested lots of pink and soft textures in her “girls’ room.” We selected a mix of light blush tones and mirrored accents to make the room feel larger and more inviting.

Two furry blush chairs and chic loveseat offer plenty of seating for entertaining. The small cubed mirrored tables can be moved around with ease for versatility while a pretty blush framed art piece serves as a serene focal point of the room.

A plush ivory rug makes the room feel soft and cozy. It also helps lighten up the dark wood floors.

We added a hot pink Kate Spade tassel throw and ruffled pillows. They give some character to the otherwise fairly neutral space.

A set of four decorative mirror panels gives the wall some interest and of course some more glitz and glamour!

Pretty florals with touches of pink add even more softness to the space.

For the homeowner’s workspace, we tucked in a mirrored desk and ghost chair into the corner. Mirrored and acrylic furniture keep the space from feeling heavy and drab. They also blend beautifully with the other feminine selections in the space.

Tucking the desk away in the corner gives a nice clean view into the room, as this is the first room people see when they enter the home.

We always encourage clients to re-purpose and convert spaces so that they can get more use out of it. We hope this glam converted office gives the homeowner a chic place to both work and play!
