Quick blog post today! Scott and I spent all day Thursday at the Dallas Market, and all the days before trying to get everything done that needed to be done before we left.
One piece of ‘getting everything done’, was a partial installation of a cute traditional home we have been working on in the Pemberton Heights area of Austin. If you are not familiar with the area, it has wonderful homes with rich architectural character. I love driving by and looking at all the houses.
We have been working on several rooms in this home and I thought I would take today’s post as a sneak peek of the family room at the back of the house.
You may have seen this image on Instagram Tuesday (no one told me it was being taken!). Moving those shelves around was a workout!
Our homeowners have a wonderful collection of books which made decorating the bookshelves much easier.
We also added this little reading nook in the back of the room which had previously been unused (‘wasted’) space. We installed a white, sunbrella covered banquette and a painted table, as well as the room’s light fixtures.
Each piece is working toward making the home brighter and fresher. Our goal is that the design selections maintain the traditional architecture of the home, but in a current, approachable way.
We look forward to sharing more photos from this project with you as it all comes together!
