Many times while our clients are furnishing their interiors, they also ask if we do ‘outdoor spaces’. As long as it does not involve me having to purchase and plant greenery (because it will die, that is just how bad I am with plants) we are on board!
Our new homeowners did not have any outdoor space in their condo, so with a little bit of budget left we set about procuring some basics to make the front porch welcoming and the back porch a place you would want to stay awhile.
The front porch got a pair of rocking chairs and a ceramic stool/side table.
Outdoor pillows add a graphic contrast to the white cushions and walls.
On the back porch we decided to do a seating grouping for four adults. It is usually far too hot (or buggy) to eat meals outside in Texas, so a dining table may turn out to be a waste of space. This covered patio is a perfect size for enjoying a glass of wine while the kids play in the back yard.
An outdoor rug in black and white set the foundation for the wicker chairs with white cushions. Outdoor pillows in white, taupe and black dress the space up.
A round, outdoor cocktail table that looks like wood provides easy traffic flow from the family room to the grass.
Now that we hit 90 here in Austin (in February!) it is not hard to imagine this family and their friends getting many hours of enjoyment on their covered patio. As long as the fan stays running! I hope you enjoyed seeing what this full home project looked like over the past few weeks and seeing just how nice it is to have a consistent look and feel in a home.
