Last year we announced an exciting collaboration with Michelle Zuzek, the founder of the Austin fashion and lifestyle blog, Style Beacon. This week we can finally share the chic after photos from her master bedroom!
To refresh your memory, Michelle approached our design team to collaborate on her bedroom in the luxury condos of the Seaholm Residences. We agreed that her new condo needed to reflect her fabulous sense of style and the vibrant downtown neighborhood she calls home.
BEFORE:
The master bedroom of this condo was a great blank space. Michelle and her husband had just moved and needed all new furniture that fit their fashion-forward lifestyle.
The only design challenge was maximizing space in the bedroom as it is smaller, which is to be expected from a downtown high rise. Also, with only one window and no other light source in the space, we had to make selections that would make the space bright enough for every day living as well as in photographs.
AFTER:
Michelle wanted her bedroom to be glam and gorgeous. She also wanted her space to be photographable and “blog worthy” as she planned to use her bedroom as the backdrop for future blog and social media posts.
With this in mind, we incorporated a dramatic tufted headboard in a deep blue jewel tone as the focal point of the room. The bed is framed with a stylish antique mirror detail. We then mixed a combination of bold pillows for added panache. A colorful graphic print, shimmer turquoise fabric, and an oversized leopard bolster make this bed photo ready.
The details were very important for our fashion and style loving client. Therefore, we made sure to select special pieces with charming details. For each side of the bed, we incorporated a bamboo framed nightstand. The nightstands have a mix of storage and two glass shelves to display fashion books or other accessories.
A pair of black and white framed graphic prints with a thin brass frame and Michelle’s own peacock lamps are unique bedside accessories.
The master bedroom also needed a fabulous lighting option for both functionality and design. We selected a gold striped metal pendant to brighten her modern downtown condo.
With a bold mix of patterns on the pillows, we wanted a crisp and classic look for the draperies. White linen draperies with black banding frame the bedroom window that looks out to the exciting downtown neighborhood. In addition to looking crisp and clean, the white draperies also helped the window appear larger and make the room feel bigger too.
Finally, one of the most important elements of a “blog-worthy” room for a fashion blogger is full length dressing mirror! Michelle wanted a statement mirror that would be as coveted and as photogenic as her outfits. The oversized studs are a chic and fabulous accent for selfies, social media, and blogs.
This was such a fun collaboration to work on and share! We would like to thank Michelle for the partnership and for providing the photography by Brandon Hill. If you are moving to a new condo, home or just need a design refresh, fill out our design questionnaire to get your project started.
Like everything else you do, I LOVE this room!
Thank you very much Sandra! We are glad you love it!
