One of the best things about having a retail storefront is getting to know our customers and seeing them on a regular basis. After almost 6 years in business I am amazed at how someone becomes not just a customer, but someone you look forward to seeing and hearing about what is going on in their lives.
We’ve seen families grow and move homes and start new jobs. One of our favorite “regular’” customers recently moved to a bigger home in a great location. However, the home is in need of updating. She wanted to start with the formal dining room, right at the entrance of the home.
Before: Dining Room in New Home
After: Dining Room in new home
Here is her summary of how the room came together.
“I started with the new panels for the windows. I found fabric at Plush Fabrics, and that helped me decide on these gorgeous upholstered dining room chairs & table at my favorite shop…Heather Scott Home & Design. I chose the linen color with the nail heads for the chairs so the fabric would not compete with the busy panels. The back of the chairs are a nice linen, and the seats are a complimenting pewter leather. It was fun creating them with two textures, a fun idea from Amanda at Heather Scott Home & Design…The fabric also helped me decide on the blue wall color…and I loved the silver accents & chairs with the soft blue. Everything came together, and we really enjoy walking by the dining room everyday!”
Amanda also worked with her to find the best size table for the room (84”) so she was able to keep her buffet in the ideal spot. Our customer said she and her husband had their dining set since they got married, almost 15 years ago. She said it was a long time coming but they were so excited to finally put together their ‘grown up’ dining room.
I think you will agree the ‘before’ and ‘after’ is a pretty awesome transition! If you need some help with determining the right size furniture, a second opinion on colors and some fresh ideas for fabrics, stop by the store. Our staff would love to help!
That is a beautiful transformation Heather. That “blue” is so VERY popular here in Charlotte. Love the drapery and how you took the “orange”out of the wood and replaced it with a darker stain. Perfect!
So honored to have our dining room on one of my favorite blog sites!
Good luck with the shop move this weekend…cant wait to see your new space! Your shop is an inspiration…just love it. 🙂
Love the room. What is the paint color? Looking forward to your new store!
